Navigating the vast landscape of online content can be overwhelming; with blogs covering various topics and accessible to almost anyone, finding credible sources, organizing them for future reference, and discovering reliable platforms can be challenging. Feedly emerged as the answer to streamline this process. Instead of cluttering my web browser with numerous bookmarks, Feedly provides a user-friendly solution. This free tool allows you to consolidate the blogs you want to follow and notifies you of new posts, simplifying staying updated. Say goodbye to the hassle of hopping around the internet; Feedly makes obtaining the information you need both efficient and convenient.

I have listed some tips below to help you navigate Feedly if you are new to the platform.

1. Don't be afraid to explore!


Venturing beyond your typical sources of information is encouraged! An excellent feature of Feedly is its ability to display the number of followers a blog has, offering confidence that the information is genuine and not clickbait, spam, or false. If you seek further reassurance regarding credibility, consider conducting a Google search to gather more insight on the blog. Additionally, exploring comments and interactions on the blog can provide valuable perspectives from the community, aiding in your assessment of the blog's reliability and relevance to your interests.

2. Organize your ideas

Creating folders for different topics is an excellent strategy to efficiently organize information and prevent being overwhelmed by abundant data. By categorizing content into specific folders, you establish a systematic approach to managing a multitude of subjects, making it easier to locate and retrieve relevant information when needed. I have included a visual so you know where to look when creating a new folder.


Additionally, consider assigning distinctive names or labels to each folder to enhance clarity and streamline your organizational system. Regularly reviewing and updating your folders ensures your information remains current and aligned with your evolving interests or priorities.
Creating new folders, moving, and deleting blogs can be done in the manage account icon found in the lower left corner, you will want to select "organize feed" I have included some images below for a visual aid.


3. Use AI feed to ensure you get all beneficial information. 

Utilizing the AI feed feature is an excellent method for uncovering information from bloggers that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. You can open up a vast array of possibilities by entering keywords related to topics you wish to explore further, such as federal interest rates, job markets, or preparing for retirement. The potential is virtually limitless with this AI feature as it consistently searches the internet for new content aligned with the keywords you input, enabling you to expand your knowledge on any subject of interest. Writing blogs can be highly beneficial for the individual composing the blog. These advantages include creating awareness of the message or brand the individual is trying to promote, fostering connections between people to share knowledge, and developing brand recognition. However, it takes more than simply putting words onto the internet to reap the rewards of blogging. Some tips and tricks are best to follow for an effective blog post. Below, I have included some ideas and tips.


Tip 1. Know your audience

What type of people are you trying to capture the attention of.

Understanding your audience allows you to tailor information to the specific demographic of people you are addressing. For instance, if you were writing a blog post discussing technologies, it would be helpful to know the age group of your target audience. Individuals from a younger demographic may show more interest in job opportunities and how technologies can impact the job market. On the other hand, an older reader, already established in their career, might be more interested in ways to build wealth through investment opportunities. Knowing your readers and why they might be interested in your material enables you to connect effectively with your target audience.


2. Use attention-grabbing headlines

Using headlines that captivate your audience's attention and quickly state what the article is going to discuss allows you to attract more visitors to your blog page. Not only does it encourage readers to engage with your content, but well-crafted headings also enhance the visibility of your blog in Google searches. While building site traffic is generally necessary to begin appearing in Google searches, creating compelling titles significantly improves the likelihood of attracting attention to your blog, regardless of the topic you choose to discuss. A carefully chosen headline previews your content and is a powerful tool for sharing your blog on social media platforms, increasing the potential for broader reach and audience engagement. Remember, the first impression created by a captivating headline plays a crucial role in enticing readers to explore the entirety of your blog post.

What is a Personal Learning Network (PLN)?

A Personal Learning Network, abbreviated as PLN, is a network that individuals create based on their specific learning needs, goals, and interests. This network serves as a connection to people or organizations. While you may not personally know the individuals in your PLN group, collaborative efforts with the shared goal of learning the same material are an excellent means to broaden knowledge. Within these PLN groups, individuals can choose to "lurk," observing and learning from others who contribute ideas and information. Alternatively, engaging with members of the PLN group provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and enhance knowledge. PLN groups are not confined to online interactions; they can also involve face-to-face meetings. However, utilizing online resources such as YouTube, Facebook, Zoom, etc., has the potential to expand the scope of individuals who can be part of your PLN network.

Building a PLN network is crucial in the role of a Human Resource Developer (HRD). Creating these networks allows HRD professionals to gain diverse ideas on various topics. Discussing ideas with individuals from different industries and backgrounds offers varied perspectives, insights, and solutions to challenges that one may not have considered on their own. Building a PLN also enables HR developers to continuously learn and stay aware of trends, regulations, or best practices, ensuring compliance with employment laws and the adoption of innovative HR practices.
