Designing Like a Pro with Canva

Let's talk about some of the features offered by Canva. As a user-friendly design platform, Canva gives a large selection of editing tools for whatever project. Whether creating business cards, flyers, thumbnails for videos, or developing a more visually pleasing social media presence, Canva is the tool you can use to do all of this easily.

The platform has a large library of pre-designed templates, all customizable to fit any look you want to create. There are so many editing tools in your hands that running the program for the first time can feel overwhelming. Luckily, many online resources can assist you when trying to learn new programs, such as Canva. I have added several YouTubers to my PLN network to continue my learning with editing. I have included one of these videos in this post; this YouTuber's name is Aurelius Tjin, and he has many videos discussing digital technology. I invite you to visit his page!

While Canva provides numerous features in its free version, upgrading to Canva Pro offers access to even more images and functionalities. With an annual subscription priced at $199.99, or approximately $17.99 per month, the Pro version can be a valuable investment. Whether you're a small business owner seeking to amplify your brand visibility, striving to produce visually captivating work, or simply tackling a personal project, Canva streamlines the process of creating digital images.

  1. Ashlie, you're doing an amazing job with these blogs! I really admire your theme and the creativity you bring to each assignment. Coincidentally, I'm currently taking an Adobe class where we learned the basics of Canva. Your blog was not only enjoyable to read, but the video you posted was incredibly helpful. I appreciated how it covered everything from the start of the application to the completion of the project. Nice job!

    1. Marisela,

Thank you so much! I am currently learning Canva. I decided to write about this program for our tech tool paper because I wanted to challenge myself to learn an editing program. I had not heard of Canva before this class, so it is fun to be able to expand my knowledge of what tools are available to those who may need to edit images.

  2. Hi Ashlie,
    Great job on your post!
I enjoyed watching the video you posted and learned new tricks to use while creating documents, which will be very helpful. I never watched any tutorial videos, however I used the free version of Canva before to create welcome posts for our new team members, thank you cards, birthday cards, etc... Thank you for sharing.

    Best regards,

    Geni

    1. Thanks Gei,

I am one of those people who will want to find a tutorial on most things I am learning. The information seems to click more when I am able to watch someone use the program and explain it before I blindly play with the program. I have been using the free version to edit some of the images for my blog, and it is fun!
